Reticulum is a small southern constellation near the Large Meagellanic Cloud dating from the 18th century. It depicts a device called a reticle, or grid, that was used in telescope eyepieces for recording star positions. The brightest star in the constellation is Alpha Reticuli, magnitude 3.3.
